A Retro-futuristic cabaret.
Will a robotic work force and artificial intelligence liberate mankind from economic drudgery or destroy the human race?
In the original R.U.R. (Rossum’s Universal Robots,) Karel Čapek introduced to the world the word “robot” back in 1920, presciently dramatizing the conflict very much part of today’s conversation: whether the combination of a robotic work force and artificial intelligence will liberate mankind from economic drudgery or threaten to overcome and destroy the human race.
The musical-theatre cabaret features a chamber ensemble, puppetry and the music of composer Maurice Saylor collaborating with Director Susan Galbraith.
