Alliance has begun its partnership and new monthly series on the first Sunday of every Month with

The LINE DC in Adams Morgan (1770 Euclid St NW)

as part of its Cultural Engagement Live and In-Podcast Series on the first Sunday of every Month.

For our inaugural event Alliance presented excerpts from our work-in-development Women of Troy: Voices from Afghanistan on Sunday, Sept 2.

For the 2nd in its series of Sunday Live Recording/Podcast Alliance for New Music-Theatre presents

 Sunday, October 7, 2018 at 3 p.m.

Written and performed by Claudia Rosales Waters, also featuring Patrick Prebula and Kristen Vasan, with Cristian Perez, Guitar, and Vernon T Mosby, Percussion

This work-in-process is directed by Alliance’s NJ Mitchell, Director of Community Partnerships and Public Programming and Susan Galbraith, Alliance Artistic Director

Café is Alliance for New Music-Theatre’s most recent collaboration on a new work with one of DC’s most talented young artists. Written by Claudia Rosales Waters, a Cuban-American playwright, the play conjures the tantalizing tastes and smells of the island nation – especially coffee!

With spoken word and integrated music, the work explores the struggle of constructing cultural identity for many first generation Americans and reconciling familial obligations with individual desire.

You will not want to miss the mix of Afro-Cuban music by Cristian Perez and Vernon T Mosby!

Sip Cuban coffee in the lobby, kick back to enjoy the show, and imagine you are in Little Havana.
